AVP/VP - Large Casualty Construction

Location: NYC, Jersey City, Boston, Philadelphia

Join our client's Construction Team in an exciting role that involves evaluating and managing large construction casualty insurance programs. This high-impact position offers the opportunity for growth, serving as a high-level individual contributor role with a path to leadership OR as the next step in your career with direct reports. We are seeking a dynamic professional to be based in NYC, Jersey City, Boston, or Philadelphia.

Technical Underwriting:

Assess risks and hazards, design appropriate insurance programs.
Collaborate with internal teams, price policies, and prepare proposals.
Present proposals to producers and prospective insured parties.

Account Management:

• Oversee post-bind activities, policy production, compliance, audits, and adjustments.
• Deliver exceptional service to customers.
• Manage renewals and conduct mid-term account reviews.

Sales and Marketing:

• Build relationships with producers and insured parties.
• Understand customer needs and buying characteristics.
• Develop strategies to position and sell our client.

Administrative:

• Maintain underwriting and policy file documentation.
• Complete assigned projects.

Skills:

• Strong understanding of insurance coverage and risk analysis.
• Knowledge of loss-sensitive programs and facultative reinsurance.
• Ability to identify and analyze exposures.
• Familiarity with regulatory and compliance issues.
• Excellent communication, sales, and negotiation skills.
• Leadership and multitasking abilities.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.

Required Experience:

• 10+ years of underwriting or industry experience.
• Established broker relationships in the Northeast Region preferred.
