Title: P&C Binding Underwriter

Join our dynamic team as a Property and Casualty Binding Underwriter in Dallas, Texas. This pivotal role focuses on analyzing and underwriting new and renewal business, employing your expertise to make decisions on insurance applications and maintain profitability.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review, evaluate, and underwrite routine to moderately complex applications for property and casualty insurance coverage based on our underwriting guidelines and standards.
  • Determine acceptability of risks and appropriate premium rates for clients in various industries.
  • Maintain and develop broker relationships to ensure a steady flow of new submissions while managing renewal business efficiently.
  • Negotiate terms and conditions with agents and brokers, and secure appropriate coverage for clients.
  • Collaborate with other underwriters, claims analysts, and compliance teams to review proposals, assess risks, and resolve issues.
  • Utilize underwriting tools, software, and analytics to make informed decisions and track portfolio performance.
  • Stay informed of changes in policy, market trends, and legal and regulatory environments affecting property and casualty insurance.
  • Conduct audits and quality control reviews to ensure adherence to company policies and underwriting standards.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, business administration, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in property and casualty underwriting.
  • Strong understanding of underwriting principles, practices, and techniques specific to property and casualty insurance.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in underwriting software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to analyze complex data and detailed information accurately.
  • Current Property and Casualty license in Texas or ability to obtain one upon hiring.
