Commercial Transportation Underwriting Director – South FL

Our client, an insurance company specializing in underwriting commercial auto/Livery coverage is seeking a Commercial Transportation Underwriting Director. They write multi-person vehicles, shuttle buses, and non-emergency medical transports, ranging from owner operation to large fleets.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Directs, leads, controls, and coordinates underwriting
• Ensures that department goals and objectives are met
• Collaborates with underwriters, producers, to solve problems and to ensure overall book profitability and sustainability
• Provides leadership and direction regarding state insurance and insurance guidelines
• Performance evaluations of team members
• Configure detail exhibits in support of all functional areas (underwriting, marketing, etc.)

Skills and Experience

• 7+ years of experience in underwriting for property and casualty within the transportation industry required. Other lines of experience a plus.
• 3+ years of experience managing an underwriting department
• Proven aptitude towards leadership
• Track record of being decisive and an ability to work both independently as well as collaboratively

Compensation and Benefits

• $120,000 - $145,000 DOE, incentive compensation, and competitive benefits (401k, Health Insurance, Vision Insurance, etc.)
