Senior Account Executive - Renewable Energy

Responsibilities:

We are seeking a highly qualified candidate for the position of Sr. Renewable Energy Account Executive. The successful candidate will bring a wealth of experience and expertise to the role, collaborating within a team to achieve business unit objectives. Key responsibilities include:

  • Profitable Management: Accountable for the profitable management of a casualty book of business, encompassing underwriting for new and renewal accounts in alignment with business unit appetite and underwriting guidelines.
  • Relationship Management: Establish and maintain strong relationships with brokers and agents, ensuring effective management of agency profitability.
  • Marketing Leadership: Undertake marketing responsibilities for assigned territories, driving strategic growth initiatives within the renewable energy space.
  • Policy Expertise: Possess a strong understanding of policy language, coverage interpretation, contractual risk transfer analysis, loss analysis, and underwriting compliance.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate extensively across the organization with risk services, claims, actuarial, finance/accounting, and IT teams to ensure cohesive operations.
  • Travel: This position will require travel as needed to maintain robust relationships with agents and customers.

Qualifications:

  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years as a casualty lines underwriter, preferably within the renewable energy sector.
  • Analytical Skills: Advanced analytical skills to interpret business information from multiple sources for critical account decisions regarding the quality of risk.
  • Decision-Making: Strong decision-making skills to execute underwriting intent and develop a profitable book of business.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Effective interpersonal skills with a solid ability to build and manage relationships with agents, brokers, customers, and colleagues.
  • Insurance Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of insurance coverage, products, rating, and pricing techniques, including guaranteed cost and loss-sensitive.
  • Negotiation and Marketing: Excellent negotiation and marketing skills to drive business growth.
  • Communication: Excellent written and oral communication skills, along with organizational and computer proficiency.
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent training.
  • Field Marketing Experience: Prior field marketing experience with agent, broker, and customer meetings.
  • Subject Matter Expert: Wind or solar experience, focusing on General Liability.
