We are partnered with an AM best rating of “A” super-regional, property and casualty insurance company to find their next Marketing Underwriting Specialist.

Location: Duluth, Georgia (Hybrid Position)

Overview: As one of the top 100 Property Casualty companies in the United States, we are looking for an Underwriter who will develop strong and strategic partnerships with their agency/broker partners. Likely will manage $12M to $13M in new and renewal business with guaranteed cost accounts ranging from $50k to $500k in premium. This is a role with a high ceiling with an opportunity to informally lead, train/mentor, and can “make of it what you want”, so if you are someone who is willing to invest in yourself, this is a great opportunity for you. The team is highly engaged with an enormous amount of collaboration.

Functions:

  • Underwrite property & casualty business (GL, Auto, Work Comp) primarily handling construction with some manufacturing and healthcare.
  • Market, evaluate, and price products and services within target classes of business.
  • Conduct agency visits and communicate with producers, support staff, and service team to achieve quality and service objectives.
  • Apply knowledge of current trends and agency performance metrics to recommend appropriate measures and achieve profitability goals.
  • Capitalize on account opportunities and leverage agency relationships.
  • Develop and implement business plans to achieve targets for written premium, product retention, and coordination of service.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
  • 3+ years commercial middle market underwriting experience
  • Experience Underwriting Construction accounts preferred
  • CIC, CPCU, and/or AU preferred
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Ability to travel 25% with a valid drivers license and clean driving record
  • Able to build positive relationships and partnerships within the department across the organization and with external partnerships
  • Able to lead discussions, make presentations, and communicate either in writing or verbally.

Pay is flexible – dependent mainly on experience
