Commercial Lines General Manager job in Huntingdon, Pittsburgh

Location: On-site (initially 5x in office for the first month, then hybrid 3x in office, 2x from home)

Overview:
We are seeking an accomplished and visionary Commercial Lines General Manager with executive potential to lead our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in commercial lines insurance and demonstrate the capability to drive strategic initiatives, foster talent development, and optimize operational efficiencies. This role is pivotal in shaping the future trajectory of our commercial lines division, contributing to our overarching organizational goals.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide executive leadership to the commercial lines team, comprising 4 direct reports, 6 underwriters led by 2 team leads, and additional support staff.
• Oversee all aspects of commercial lines operations, including underwriting, rating, audit, product/pricing management, and staff development.
• Collaborate closely with the Chief Strategy Officer and other members of the executive team to define and execute strategic objectives, ensuring alignment with company goals.
• Drive innovation and continuous improvement within the commercial lines division, leveraging market insights and emerging trends to enhance product offerings and service delivery.
• Cultivate a high-performance culture characterized by accountability, collaboration, and excellence, fostering a supportive environment for professional growth and development.
• Establish and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including clients, brokers, and regulatory authorities, to facilitate business expansion and ensure compliance with industry standards.
• Monitor and analyze performance metrics, financial indicators, and market dynamics to identify opportunities for growth and mitigate risks effectively.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, or related field; advanced degree preferred.
• Minimum of 7-10 years of progressive experience in commercial lines insurance, with a proven track record of leadership and achievement.
• Strong understanding of commercial lines products and market dynamics, including general liability, auto, workers' compensation, and business owner's policies.
• Exceptional strategic thinking and analytical skills, with the ability to translate complex data into actionable insights and initiatives.
• Demonstrated proficiency in staff management, talent development, and organizational leadership.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively across all levels of the organization.
• Possess a strategic mindset with a focus on driving results and achieving business objectives.
• Current knowledge of industry trends, regulations, and best practices.
