Senior Commercial Underwriter To 140k(DOE), New York City, Remote
A+ property and casualty insurance carrier is seeking a Sr. Commercial Underwriter to join their NYC Middle Market Team The Senior Underwriter will be responsible for writing new and renewal business, determining the acceptability of commercial lines package, auto, workers compensation and umbrella policies based on the company’s underwriting guidelines. Develop and maintain retail agency relationships, train and mentor other underwriters and participate in special projects. To qualify, the appropriate underwriting candidate must have 7 or more years of commercial multi line or package underwriting, workers compensation and casualty experience preferred, from a standard lines carrier.  Middle market account background required, to 400K in premium account background. Excellent computer and technical knowledge. Experience with ImageRight preferred. Strong organizational/time management, communication and verbal skills required. Excellent analytical skills and ability to demonstrate sound judgment and decision making as per company underwriting guidelines and philosophy. Bachelors Degree required. Designations, i.e, CPCU, CIC, ARM preferred. Compensation to 120K (DOE), bonus, benefits, 401K, Pension.
