We have a tremendous underwriting career position open to join an A rated standard lines carrier who is currently seeking a 2-7 year experienced commercial underwriter. This company offers a stable, long term opportunity in a 'family' type atmosphere to further develop your underwriting career. Working through independent agents in the MIdwest, their underwriters handle a variety of casualty and property risks with package & some middle market accounts. This employee oriented company. Strong emphasis on continuing education and allowing each employee to maximize their abilities.

Must have good communication skills, both oral and written. Must have ability to deal with people in a tactful and diplomatic manner. Must possess commercial insurance knowledge with analytical and mathematical skills. Must maintain satisfactory working relationships with both independent agents and company personnel, while writing good, profitable business. College degree desired or equivalent insurance experience. Minimum two years of commercial lines underwriting experience required, risk evaluation skills, common sense judgments, good negotiation skills.
