The people you get in touch with should be those who can help you with your career goals. So, if you have an idea of what you want your future to look like, this will help guide you to people who might be able to help you get there.<\/p>\n

Another aspect of networking that makes people unsuccessful at it is being too greedy. A contact will be more likely to work with you if the relationship is beneficial for both of you. Your best bet for finding job leads and learning new things is NOT to network with people who are exactly like you. This can be very limiting! Instead, reach out and make connections with people from different backgrounds or industries, or with different thoughts and ideas. You never know!<\/p>\n

Recruiters are experts at what they do. They can impart valuable industry and workforce information that they\u2019ve gained from the inside track. Plus, if you\u2019re searching for a new job, they may have leads on both published and unpublished positions.<\/p>\n
