Workers Compensation Underwriter job in Albuquerque

As a Senior Workers Compensation Underwriter, you will serve as the department's subject matter expert.

You will be responsible for the evaluation, selection, acceptance,
declination, pricing and servicing of the organizations more complex accounts.

You will serve as a role model of service excellence, as
well as mentor for underwriting staff members.

Primary Focus:

You will evaluate policies to determine risk selection for the company's largest accounts.

This includes determining account pricing, terms and conditions of highly complex risks.

You will manage key relationships with various stakeholder levels.

Provide timely and professional communication to customers.

You will be responsible for achieving company written premium, loss ratio, submission and service objectives.

You will mentor and train department and company members on underwriting guidelines, policies and procedures.

Conduct underwriting quality file reviews.

Qualifications:

Experience:

You will have at least
3-6 years of Property and Casualty insurance underwriting experience- more is a big plus!

Required
Skills/Abilities:

Expert level knowledge of workers' compensation exposures and applicable
regulations
Expert level knowledge of underwriting concepts, practices and procedures
Excellent communication skills, including experience with negotiation and sales
Excellent writing skills with ability to clearly communicate underwriting decisions
Proven ability to confidently accept appropriate risk
Significant attention to detail
Expert experience reviewing financial statements and ratios associated with risk
analysis
