Casualty Underwriter - NY Insurance Agency (Location is Hudson Valley/Poughkeepsie area)

Our client, a regional insurance agency in the New York Metro area seeks to provide the peace of mind that insurance is designed to provide. Their scope of products includes Property & Casualty, Bonds, Life & Health and Financial Services.

We are currently searching for a Commercial Casualty Underwriter for a Contractors Program. Our client is a fast-paced retail agency operation in the New York City & Upstate that has an MGA targeted at Contractors.

1. Founded 40+ years ago

2. Full services broker - CL, EB, PL and Financial Services

3. Office locations: NYC and Upstate, NY

4. Added Value Services: Audit Services, Claims, OSHA, Loss Control and Construction Services/MGA

5. Niches: Real Estate, Construction, Healthcare, Hospitality, Life Science/Tech, Chemical, Energy, Environmental, etc.

6. Staff - 40+ EE's

Job Outline:

Required Experience: 5+ years of Commercial Underwriting - Must have Construction UW experience

Carrier and/or Wholesale background - Need strong technical skills

Underwrites and evaluates new and renewal business

BA/BS Degree preferred

Compensation Range:

Salary range depends on experience, but target is currently $80-120k

Discretionary Bonus
