Small Group Benefits Account Manager. Irvine, CA.

Top 25 insurance broker’s Orange County office has this position open due to the incumbent starting nursing school early next year and they would like you to spend a reasonable amount of time with them to effectuate an easy transition.
You will eventually assume full responsibility for about 35 small group clients (under 100 lives).
Yes – you will have client-facing experience with them on a regular basis and you will need to currently have that same type experience in your background. (Obviously any expenses born while doing this will be paid for by the client).

Job Summary:
The Account Manager is responsible for handling a comprehensive book of business with all lines of health and welfare insurance and accountable for all day-to-day servicing of clients, enrollment meetings, relationship management, wellness programs, and client presentations.
Primary Responsibilities and Duties:
The duties of the Account Manager, include but are not limited to:
• Manage client relationships and service insurance needs of Small Group Clientele.
• Solid experience with end to end service and renewals for Small Groups (<100 EE’s)
• Initiate and follow-up with customers and carriers to resolve problems, answer questions, correspondence, and reports.
• Run Proposals and make recommendations
• Compliance understanding ACA, 5500, POP, FSA and be able to provide client support for all compliance.
• Process employee benefits enrollments, terminations, and qualifying event changes
• Provide clients with current Plan Summary Descriptions, enrollment forms, and benefit cards for their daily administration.
• Manage marketing and supervision of annual renewal proposal process, creating presentations with supporting carrier data.
• Develop and support client benefit portals, updating information as needed.
• Process client medical claims with insurance carriers and provide resolution.
• Process billing audits and reconcile discrepancies.
• Attends seminars, meetings, or educational activities to stay up-to-date on the latest developments, trends, and regulations in the market place.

Requirements and Qualifications:
• Minimum of 5 years Group Benefits insurance brokerage experience.
• Valid CA Life, Accident and Health brokers’ license.
• College degree preferred.
• CRM experience, preferably with Benefit point.
• Technology experience (understanding of how to set up systems like EaseCentral, BSWift, BeneTrac, ADP, etc)
• Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Demonstrate proficiency in computer applications, esp. Microsoft Office Suite and comfort working in a paperless environment.
• Exceptional organization and time-management skills
• Self-starter, professional, assertive and team player
• Ability to handle a fast-paced, challenging work environment

Salary:  Open
Bonus/Benefits:  Salary $65-$70k
