Environmental Claims Manager/Claims Handler job in Central New Jersey

A+ property and casualty insurance carrier with domestic and international platforms is seeking an addition, a Claims Manager to join Casualty (Environmental) Claim Department. The qualified claims leader/candidate will be responsible for directly handling claims. In addition, the candidate may be required to assist in managing and directing TPAs that handle claims on company’s behalf. This is an exciting opportunity for a dedicated professional who possesses extensive environmental claim management, analytical and technical skills. The ability to handle a diverse pending caseload of liability claims is required. 

Further duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Review and analysis of coverage including the preparation of coverage letters.
• Investigation, analysis and evaluation of assigned claims.
• Proactive and timely setting of case reserves.
• Development of resolution strategies on assigned claims.
• Managing ALAE through advanced litigation management.

Work Experience & Qualifications:

• Preferably should have 7 to 10 years of environmental claim experience and current working knowledge of jurisdictional laws and regulations.
• Experience handling contractor pollution liability, site specific pollution liability and professional liability claims emanating from environmental contractor activities are required.
• Extensive coverage evaluation skills necessary.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills are required.
• Ability to influence others and demonstrate leadership skills.
• Ability to travel is required.
