Commercial Underwriting Middle Market Officer / Leader, Regional Multiline P / C Insurance – NYC- (NYUWLdr)

A global property and casualty insurance carrier is looking for a Commercial Lines Middle Market Underwriting Leader for their eastern regional office. This Underwriting Manager/Director/AVP will develop underwriting strategies for the existing and new business target segments for this commercial lines middle market underwriting department. Their products include property, general liability, workers’ compensation, auto, packages and umbrella products. You will also need to lead the in-office and remotely located underwriters in the region and work closely with the other departments-loss control, claims, operations, etc.

The requirements are 7+ years of commercial middle market/multiline P&C underwriting experience; 3+ years of underwriting leadership experience; Strong knowledge of core P&C lines-WC, GL, AL, Property, Package and Umbrella; Excellent interpersonal, communication and analytical skills; Must be teamwork oriented; Have producer contacts; Insurance designations are a plus; Knowledge and experience with MS Office and rating tools; and a bachelor’s degree required. The salary is commensurate with experience (mid-$100Ks) plus bonus and great benefits.
