Personal Lines Underwriter job in New England

Personal Lines Underwriter - Wholesale Broker/MGA (CT, MA or RI)

Our client a full-service Wholesale Brokerage/MGA is looking to fill a Personal Lines Underwriter position. They are looking for an individual to underwrite, rate and deliver quotes to their broker/agents. This individual can work out of their CT, MA or RI office.

Positon Outline:

•Responsible for renewal book of business.

•Develop strong working relationships with broker/agents

•Underwrite new and renewals based on applications received.

•Work with company underwriters for any referral business.

•Follow up for all necessary underwriting information.

•Negotiate pricing with broker/agents.

•Deliver bindable quotes with binding checklist/subjectivities.

•Bind policies and invoice policies.

•Order inspections and review inspections when completed.

•Issue recommendations or notices of cancelation based on inspections or other underwriting information.

•Review endorsement requests and issue endorsements.

•Adhere to state regulations and guidelines relative to timely filings of surplus lines affidavits

•Performs other duties or special projects as required or as assigned.

Qualifications:
•5-8 years experience as PL Broker/Underwriter
•Must understand how rates are achieved
•Producer license or ability to obtain license in first 180 days
•Proficient with MS Office products
